Q. What if I can’t get logged into a Zoom session?

A. If you are having trouble logging into a Zoom session; start by checking the meeting ID and password and make sure those things have been entered correctly. If you are still having trouble, please contact your child’s teacher and communicate what is happening. All lessons will be recorded and posted into the Canvas homeroom page daily.

 

Q. What if I can’t get logged into a school laptop?

A. If you are having trouble logging into your school laptop, start by checking the username and password you were given on the paper when you received your device. If you continue to have trouble contact your child’s teacher or Mr. Rinker, our school Instructional Technology Coach.

 

Q. Who should I contact if my child is sick or needs to miss school?

A. If your child is sick or needs to miss school, please contact both the school office and your child’s teacher.

 

Q. What if my childcare provider can’t help with distance learning?

A. Please contact your child’s teacher during the posted office hours or send an email and we can set up a Zoom meeting to walk you and your child through the lesson. Most of the activities we will have your children complete are meant to be completed independently.

 

Q. What if my child loses their passwords?

A. If your child loses or forgets their Office 365 password a parent needs to visit the student page on the Bel Air website and click the password link. Contact your child’s teacher if you need assistance with all other passwords.

 

 

Q. What if my child is not understanding a lesson and needs more support?

A. Contact your child’s teacher during the posted office hours or send an email and we can set up a Zoom meeting to walk you and your child through the lesson.

 

Q. Where can I find recorded lessons?

A. If your child misses a live lesson, you can find recorded lessons in the Canvas Module that corresponds with the subject you need.

 

Q. How do I communicate with my child’s teacher?

A. You can communicate with your child’s teacher in several different ways. The first way to communication with your child’s teacher’s in through email, secondly through ParentVue in the HUB and finally through Seesaw. Parents will be invited to join our Seesaw community. Look for the invitation from your child’s teacher. Seesaw has a translation capability that is very helpful.

 

Q. What if we don’t have internet connection?

A. If you do not have an internet connection, please have a conversation with your child’s teacher.

 

Q. Will there be homework?

A. There will be no traditional homework as your child will be working on assignments from home. However, we still would like to see our students reading every evening after school hours for 20 minutes. There will be a reading log on Seesaw so you and your child can keep track of your nightly reading.
