Hello, Bel Air Families!

I am Mrs. Palmer, the Title I Mathematics Specialist at Bel Air. I have been a specialist for 13 years at Bel Air. Prior to that, I was a classroom teacher in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I also have experience with preschool and kindergarten. So, it is safe to say that I bring many experiences to the table.

I enjoy getting to work with students, teachers and parents throughout the school year. My main focus is helping everyone understand that math is not just about computation. Students need to understand that they are going to need to problem solve when they are in the world outside the school building. They are going to need to be able to communicate their thinking others. Their job may even allow them to play and use logic. I'm excited to be able to work with the community to engage in these ideas.
